Set Up for Android Devices

Download and Install Aspire Mobile

To use Aspire Mobile on mobile devices, it must be downloaded from the Play Store for Android products; search for Aspire Mobile and download.

Enabling Location

For Android devices, location is enabled from Settings, but when logging into Aspire Mobile for the first time can be enabled. The settings for Android devices vary widely, but the example below shows how to set location service for an Android device with a Galaxy S23.

Enabling Camera

Camera use and Aspire Mobile can be turned on in the app, when you go to use the camera for the first time.

Navigate to a section that has the camera icon, like when updating Issues, and select Upload Image. Your mobile device will run through camera permission verification, which allows you to use your camera inside of Aspire Mobile.

Set Up For Apple Devices

Download and Install Aspire Mobile

To use Aspire Mobile on mobile devices, it must be downloaded from the App Store for Apple devices. Search in the App Store for Aspire Mobile and download.

Apple devices will prompt users to provide access to camera, location and storage for Aspire Mobile to function properly once you’ve logged in. You can verify what is enabled and make any changes after downloading the app.

Enabling Location

For Aspire Mobile to recognize a crew member’s location when they clock in or out, or record time on a job, location services must be enabled.

Once you have logged into Aspire Mobile on your first log in, you will be prompted to enable Location Services. Select Allow While Using App.

Enabling Camera

Camera access can be enabled inside of Aspire Mobile with the first time you take a photo. In the example below, you can head to Issues and select Take a Photo. The permission prompt will appear and you can authorize the use of your camera while using the app by selecting OK.

Offline Mode

Once the device is fully set up, crew leaders and members can clock in and use Aspire Mobile in offline mode.

This means that if your crews service a site that does not have access to WIFI or Cellular service, when they move to a location that does, their data and actions made in Aspire will be updated in the app.

Troubleshooting Location and Camera Permissions in Settings

If for any reason you’ve declined permission for Location and Camera inside of Aspire Mobile, you can head to settings and turn them on manually.

For Android Users

  • Navigate to Aspire Mobile, and open your permissions to review Settings.

  • Select Apps ➡️App Management ➡️ Aspire Mobile.

  • Select Camera, and manually choose While using the app. This makes sure that your crews can use their camera to capture images for their jobs, as needed inside of Aspire Mobile.

You can also manually turn on Location Services for Aspire Mobile to recognize a crew member’s location when they clock in or out, or record time on a job.

  • Select Location, and then choose Allow all the time. This helps with accurate clock-in locations, travel time, and overall tracking.

For Apple Users

Location Services are enabled from the device Settings screen on your Apple device.

  • Navigate to Settings ➡️ Aspire Mobile ➡️ Location ➡️ Choose While Using App or Always.

Then, set the camera settings for the app in the same screen.

Next, review your camera and photo settings. You can allow the sharing of your photos if you take photos and need to access your photo album to upload into notes or issues within Aspire, and the radio button next to Camera should be turned on.

This makes sure you can also use your camera in the app for automatic upload of images after they are taken.

Spanish Mode

You have the ability to set your default language to Spanish for Apple users. Aspire can display certain parts of the Aspire Mobile app in Spanish.

📑 Most users will do this inside of the app on the login page; to learn more about Spanish Mode, please read here.

You then can work with your crew leaders or crew members to approve their devices now their settings are updated!

Device Approval for Aspire Mobile Users

Once the device services have been set up correctly, proceed with assisting your team logging in to Aspire Mobile for the first time. Any user that logs into Aspire Mobile, such as a Crew Leader, means that they should be set up as an employee contact with a user profile under Users in Administration.

✅Your Crew Leaders should also have the Crew Leader permission added to their User Role.

You should follow these steps if your system requires device authorization before initial log-in to Aspire.

  • While coordinating with the system administrator, your crew leader should launch Aspire Mobile. To log in to the system for the first time, the crew leader will enter the email address, password, and company code supplied by the system administrator.

  • They will also enter a name for the device to uniquely identify it among all the other devices in the company.

  • After the crew leader enters their credentials, and presses the Authorize button, the screen will display Your device authorization request has been sent. You will be notified when your request is approved.

  • You will need to access Aspire and approve the device in Devices.

  • Go to your Profile Icon and then Administration.

  • Once in Administration, click User Management ➡️ Devices and locate the crew leader's device.

  • Check the box under the Active column to prompt confirmation before enabling the device access to Aspire Mobile.

  • The other option to approve devices is through email. Once a user requests access to Aspire Mobile, administrators will receive a device approval email.

Here's an example of what this device approval email will look like:

  • After setting the device to Active or approving the device through email, you can instruct the crew leader to press the Refresh button in Aspire Mobile. They can now log in on their device and use Aspire Mobile.

Resetting Aspire Mobile on your Mobile Device

For users that have either Apple and Android devices, simply deleting Aspire Mobile and reinstalling Aspire Mobile on your device will reset its configuration so you can log in again and get reauthorized if your system required device approval.

Here's the steps to delete the Aspire Mobile app on an Android device:

For Apple devices, to delete an app, simply long press on the home screen to get your icons into Edit mode and select the Subtraction icon to confirm deletion of Aspire Mobile:

Reasons that a device might need to be reauthorized are if a device was deactivated in Administration. System Administrators have access to Manage Devices and Manage Users where they can manually deactivate individual devices.
