Purpose
As an Administrator, you can use Restrict Mobile Route Visibility with assigned Routes to limit route visibility so Crew Leaders can only view the routes assigned to them when using Crew Mobile out in the field.
If your crew leader has 25 routes they manage, but you have a total of 150 routes visible in Crew Mobile, scrolling through all 150 routes is time consuming.
With this feature, you can reduce the amount of routes available in your crew leaders Crew Mobile account to improve their workflow experience.
Restricting Route Visibility in Crew Mobile
First, you need to tell your system that you want Crew Leaders to have limited route access in Crew Mobile.
Go to your Profile Icon, and then Administration.
Click Configuration and then, the Application tab.
Check the Restrict Mobile Route Visibility to Assigned Routes checkbox.
If you need to show all routes to crew leaders, return to this section of Aspire, uncheck the box, and Save.
📌Note: Restrict Mobile Route Visibility to Assigned Routes must be turned on at the system level or options to grant higher levels of visibility will not be an option on your user’s details screens.
Granting Additional Route Visibility to Crew Leaders
Sometimes, there are crew leaders that need to have access to all routes. You can give higher level of access to routes on the user level by selecting the checkbox View all Routes in Mobile on the specific leader’s user details screen.
Go to Administration and select User Management.
Select the Users tab.
Select your user from the search list that needs additional route visibility.
Check the View all Routes in Mobile box and Save.
Viewing Routes in Crew Mobile
Now that you have set up Restrict Mobile Route Visibility to Assigned Routes, it’s good to understand what this will look like for your Crew Leaders.
Alora’s Route is one of 67 routes in your Aspire system. Restrict Mobile Route Visibility to Assigned Routes was set up and Alora should now only have access to their route when logged in to Crew Mobile.
Alora reviews their schedule for tomorrow, the only route available in the drop down is the one that has been assigned! They do not need to scroll through other routes to locate their work tickets.
This setting gives easier access to Crew Leaders work tickets for that day.
🧠Remember: Crew Leaders will be able to see all routes if Restrict Mobile Route Visibility is not set up on the system level.
Another reason could be that Restrict Mobile Route Visibility is set up for your Aspire system, but View All Routes in Mobile is also selected for a specific crew leader on their user settings.
If Alora had View All Routes in Mobile added to their account, when reviewing the details under Scheduling, all routes in your Aspire system and their work tickets would be available for review.
