Purpose

After years of looking at a whiteboard, getting used to Aspire's scheduling module might be a little different.

However, you can still provide your crews or operations managers with a look at the schedule board on a large TV or external monitor to show all day like the below.

Due to security reasons, Aspire will log you out after 30 minutes of no activity. This can be an issue if you would like an external display or TV screen to show the crews' routes and jobs for the week or day.

To help get the schedule board on your external display without being logged out, follow the steps below.

⚠️ Aspire does not support or suggest any specific auto refresher and is not responsible for any issues related to the download of these extensions. We suggest speaking with your IT partner before use.

Setup

For Chrome Browsers:

  1. In your Chrome browser, log into Aspire and open the Schedule Board in the Scheduling module.

  2. Open a new tab and go to the Chrome Web Store in the Extensions Section. Type in the search bar "Auto Refresh" and press enter.

  3. Many search options will appear, but we'll be choosing Auto Refresh Plus. Choose the one you would like to use.

  4. Once on the page, click Add To Chrome. Google will ask if the extension can be added. Click Add Extension.

    1. If you are unsure if you can add browser extensions, please consult with your company's IT policy.

  5. The extension will be added, and you will be directed to the AutoRefresh page with options. It will be easier to review the options through the Extension.

  6. Navigate back to your Aspire Schedule Board browser tab.

  7. Once on the Schedule Board, click the Extension icon in the upper right corner (puzzle piece). Then, click Auto Refresh Plus.

  8. You will now see a menu pop on the screen. Set the Time Interval to the amount of time you would like it to refresh. This will be tab specific and won't be set for your other tabs.

  9. Additional options can be found in the menu depending on your preferences. Click Start at the top of the menu. A pop-up will appear, click Allow.

  10. The page will refresh and begin on the timer you have set. Clicking back into Extensions (puzzle piece), you can see the timer.

  11. If you would like to stop the timer, click into the Extension again. If the timer is active, you can now click the stop button.

If you have a dedicated computer for an external display, you may not have to do steps 7-10 whenever you close and then later reopen your browser.

You can configure the extension's settings to automatically start the refresh countdown when the window is open and prevent being logged out due to inactivity.

To do this:

  1. Click Extensions (puzzle piece), then Auto Refresh Plus, and last, click the gear icon.

  2. Now being taken to the extension's settings, click the Autostart section.

  3. Underneath the Auto Start URLs section, click the red toggle to turn it to green. This will make the textbox available.

  4. Enter the text of the schedule board URL: https://cloud.youraspire.com/app/scheduling

  5. The Auto Refresh settings will be saved and you can close out of the tab.

Whenever the browser is on the schedule board, it will automatically start the refresh countdown and prevent being logged out due to inactivity.

Extending Your Display

There are multiple ways to extend your display based on:

  • Using your own computer or a dedicated computer,

  • Using an HDMI or VGA cable
